Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in our European Head Office in Cork, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Estimating team as a CSA Senior Estimator. This is a senior, commercially focused role where you will lead the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates across the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) scope, working closely with our commercial, construction and project teams.
Leading CSA estimates from enquiry through to tender submission.
Preparing detailed quantity take-offs, measurements and pricing from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations, including scope, inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, scope gaps and value-engineering opportunities.
Working closely with commercial, construction, design and MEP teams to ensure all project interfaces are considered.
Supporting tender strategy and presenting estimates, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders and clients.
Attending tender, clarification and post-tender meetings.
Supporting and mentoring junior and trainee estimators.
Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
Strong CSA estimating experience on large-scale construction projects.
Detailed understanding of civil, structural and architectural construction methods, materials and specifications.
Strong experience in quantity take-offs, measurement, pricing and tender preparation.
Commercially aware with an understanding of cost, risk, margin and profitability.
Experience analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work to demanding deadlines.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
